Dr. Chatwin has over 40 years of experience in environmental and process engineering.

He is currently the Technical Manager of INAP, the International Network for Acid Prevention. INAP is an organization of international mining companies that seeks to prevent acid rock drainage (ARD) and metal leaching through collaborative research, information transfer and networking with other mining stakeholders.

Ten of the largest international mining companies (Anglo American, Antofagasta Minerals, BHP Billiton, Barrick Gold, Freeport McMoRan, Kinross Gold, Newcrest Mining, Rio Tinto, Vale and Xstrata) support INAP.  Dr. Chatwin also coordinates activities with the Global Alliance with organizations in Australia, Canada, China, Europe, Indonesia, South Africa, South America, and the USA.
